Ce cap qui plonge dans la mer est l’un des symboles de l’île de Phuket, parfaitement reconnaissable grâce à ses grands palmiers.
Pour les lève-tôt, l’arrivée du soleil sur la baie au petit matin est vraiment spectaculaire avec une palette de couleurs sublimes et le seul bruit des vagues se brisant sur les rochers. Contemplation dans le calme.
En fin de journée, au couché du soleil, le spectacle est tout aussi beau. Pour prendre la poudre d’escampette et s’éloigner des touristes qui viennent en masse prendre une photo, on peut descendre en contrebas le petit sentier qui mène au bout du cap et profiter d’un moment paisible, en sachant toutefois qu’il faudra remonter … courage !
Le coucher du soleil vu du cap Promthep est assurément un joli spectacle. Mais ce n’est pas le seul. Il y a aussi un phare (lighthouse) construit dans les années 1990, mini-musée que l’on visite avec à son sommet le drapeau royal et le drapeau national. A côté, on peut admirer un monument religieux entouré de centaines de sculptures d’éléphants de toutes tailles et couleurs.
Enfin, pour bien terminer la visite, on peut faire des emplettes dans les échoppes de souvenirs en bordure du parking. Mais on peut aussi entrer au Promthep Restaurant et admirer les dernières couleurs du jour sur la baie en sirotant un verre en terrasse ou en savourant des produits de la mer.

Finally, to finish the visit, you can shop at souvenir shops on the edge of the car park. But you can also enter the Promthep Restaurant and admire the latest colors of the day on the bay sipping a drink on the terrace or savoring seafood.
